Bazament Art Space Open Call | Curator in Residence 2026.
Bazament invites regional and international curators to apply for a two-week research residency in Tirana, Albania, taking place between August and September 2026. Through studio visits, conversations, and meetings with local artists and cultural practitioners, the selected curator will develop a curatorial concept and select one or more artists for an exhibition presented at Bazament during Tirana Art Weekend in November 2026.
Who can apply: Applications are open to regional and international curators with a minimum of two years of independent or institutional curatorial experience. Applicants should have a strong interest in contemporary art and research-based curatorial practice. The residency is intended for curators working across contemporary visual arts, and applicants must be available to participate in the full two-week residency in Tirana between August and September 2026.
What you get: The selected curator will receive: A two-week research residency in Tirana. Accommodation for the duration of the residency. A dedicated workspace at Bazament Art Space. Travel support for Europe-based participants. A curatorial fee of €800. Introductions to local artists, curators, institutions, and cultural practitioners through a tailored programme of studio visits and meetings. The opportunity to curate an exhibition at Bazament during Tirana Art Weekend 2026, including the selection of participating artist(s).
