BOOKED 2020 – Artists Book Fair

BOOKED 2020 is a fair devoted to artists’ books, publications produced by small presses and related forms of art processes. It is being organized by MUU, Finland’s interdisciplinary art association, and will take place at Helsinki’s Cable Factory 10-11 October 2020.

The event will highlight works situated at the interface of literature and visual art and bring them to the attention of the public. The scope of the fair will include workshops, new text-based visual art projects and interviews with specialists in the field. Sound and performance art will also be featured.

As part of this project, BOOKED 2020 invites artists, performers, and exhibitors from Finland and abroad to participate in the fair by applying to our Open Call. Complete the proposal form – available through the link (below) – and tell us exactly what you, as a participant, could contribute to the fair’s unique program. You may apply as individual, group or organisation.

The fair will take place at Helsinki’s Cable Factory and be able to accommodate presentations, workshops, and diverse installations. We are particularly interested in presentations that are inclusive, short interventions and vibrant discussions that link text and spoken work with visual and performance art. We also want to include a selection of current publications on text works and sound art.

The event will be realized in cooperation with Konttori, the Cable Factory’s new public service space. Konttori will, among other things, include a café and a bookstore.
