Call for proposals for a one-month scholarship for sculpture, installation and object art. Symposium for female sculptors with child.
The Saxon artist estate Prösitz announces four-week participations in the symposium between May and October 2027. It is aimed at female artists with children who work sculpturally, plastically, installationally or with object art. All forms of experimental work within these art genres are also welcomed.
The aim of the symposium is to enable professional artists to work sculpturally / installationally during the four working weeks on the Künstlergut. It is unique and special that the scholarship is aimed at female artists who are also mothers. The Prösitzer Symposium allows them to bring the children. Childcare is provided for the children (maximum maximum age 12 years) at the Künstlergut Prösitz during the four-week residence stay. This allows the women to devote themselves to their artistic work, to exchange ideas with colleagues in the same life situation and also to network ideally.
The participants of the symposium will be selected by a jury on the basis of the submitted application documents. The artistic quality of the work is crucial. The jury consists of the scholarship holders of the previous year and a curator (art historian). As a result, the jury remains independent and the scholarship holders receive (further) jury experience through their participation. Workshops are available on a large scale: clay and metal workshops, plaster room, spacious studio under the roof, barn, as well as the courtyard for larger outdoor work. The children are looked after on site by a childminder. For each artist with her child/s, a room with a small bathroom is available.
The scholarship is 500, – Euro. There is no cost of overnight stays and childcare. Various additional services (materials, organizational aids, etc.) are provided individually. Afterwards, a joint exhibition of all scholarship holders will be organized. A community catalogue appears for this.
