Open Call KE25. Would you like to help celebrate KE’s 125th anniversary, which will be an intensive exhibition with lots of events for both the artists and the audience?
Would you like the opportunity to exhibit your works in the Free Exhibition Building, in this year’s Sculpture Garden, participate in performances, or perhaps with an artistic workshop, in one of Denmark’s most beautiful art halls, in the heart of Copenhagen?
On the occasion of our anniversary, we are opening up the possibility for you to submit outdoor works to what we call the Sculpture Garden (the area outside Den Fries Café Pegasus). You can apply with events in the form of artistic workshops, talks and other new “weird” formats.
The Artists’ Autumn Exhibition is one of the oldest censored exhibitions in Copenhagen, where everyone has the opportunity to apply. This year’s jury takes all submitted works into account, and the assessment is made solely on the basis of the potential of the individual works. The special thing about KE is that you are completely anonymous! The names, gender, age, ethnicity, nationality and background of the applicants are not available to the jury, ensuring a fair and democratic selection.
Over the years, this inclusive approach has meant that more than 6,000 artists have taken their first steps onto the Danish and international art scene through KE. Artists such as Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen, Wilhelm Freddie, Sonja Ferlov Mancoba, Asger Jorn, Poul Gernes, Ursula Reuter Christiansen, Jeannette Ehlers and Noah Umur. The list goes on, and now you have the opportunity to write your way into history too!
OPEN CALL
Submission of works to KE25 takes place digitally via our website http://www.ke-udstilling.dk in the period from September 26 – October 5, 2025. The link will not be opened until September 26. After submission, all works will be reviewed and assessed by this year’s jury, which will put together this year’s exhibition through three rounds.
We want to make our OPEN CALL as accessible as possible, which is why the application process is 100% digital, which means that you only have to submit your works physically if they are accepted for the exhibition.
You will receive an answer as to whether you have been accepted on Saturday 13 October.
All exhibiting artists receive an exhibition fee of NOK 2.000
