Calling A6 Books

Open Call — A6 Books

The London Centre for Book Arts starts a new project: A6 Books and you’re invited to participate by submitting your artists’ book or artzine…

»The aim is to help promote and distribute books, zines and publications by emerging artists. With a simple criteria: the work must be A6 size (105✕148mm) and an inclusive  open-submission process, we hope to create a new way for artists to reach their readers.«

Submissions will be considered for sale at the shop at the London Centre for Book Arts, A6 Books online shop, and artist book fairs.

If you are an artist or group of artists interested in submitting artist books, publications or zines to be considered for sale through A6 BOOKS, please drop us an email at with photos, a brief description, and the following information:

Name of Artist(s)
Retail Price
Number of pages
Number of copies produced

Submissions are strictly limited to A6 size (105mm x 148mm) books and publications – this helps us to manage space and the amount of admin time we can devote. Due to space limitations we will not be able to accept all submissions. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel made up of staff at the London Centre for Book Arts. Please be patient as we may take up to five weeks to get back to you about your submissions.

If your work is selected, it will be sold at our shop on sale-or-return terms which is 40% to the shop and 60% to the artist/publisher.

We are particularly interested in books or publications that have been conceived as artworks in their own right, and are inexpensive and produced in large or open editions rather than limited editions or unique books (to borrow from the submission guidelines of the great Printed Matter).

London Centre for Book Arts (LCBA) is an artist-run, open-access studio offering education programmes for the community and access to printing, binding, and publishing resources for artists and designers. Our mission is to foster and promote book arts and artist-led publishing in the UK through collaboration, education, and by providing open-access to our unique facilities; a space for hands-on experience, knowledge sharing and skills exchange.
